Microsoft has killed its fitness wearable efforts and announced earlier that they will not be making any after the Microsoft Band 2 atleast this year. But now leaked images of a prototype Band 3 have surfaced online which a swim mode.
This means that the third generation Microsoft Band would have been water resistant, come with an EKG sensor and also have RFID capabilities. So you would have got heart-rate measurement making it a way better fitness tracker.
Given that the Band 3 would have got rid of all the shortcomings of the Band 2, so Microsoft killed it. The company has always lacked commitment when it comes to its hardware division. The Band 3 is never going to see the light of day and next on the list could be Windows 10 Mobile.
