LG Watch Urbane launched in Android Wear and WebOS flavors

LG is ready to dominate wearable space with its LG Watch Urbane. The company has already launched two smartwatches running on Android Wear, the G Watch and G Watch R. Now, you have the new LG Watch Urbane which comes with in both Android Wear and WebOS flavors.


The Android Wear LG Watch Urbane comes with a circular display and emphasizes on luxury with gold and silver finishes made with with stainless steel. The leather strap is stitched giving the watch a premium look.


Coming to specs the LG Watch Urbane and LG Watch Urbane LTE (WebOS) come with a 1.3-inch P-OLED display powered by a 1.2GHz Snapdragon 400 processor and 4 GB ROM. The LTE variant has 1 GB RAM while the Android Wear counterpart makes do with just 512 MB, moreover the LTE variant gets 700 mAh battery while we have a 410 mAh unit on the other one. The LG Watch Urbane LTE can be used for NFC payments without the need of it being tethered to a phone.

Both watches are dust and water resistant, share the same premium up-market feel and are extremely sexy to look at. Although you can change the straps on the LG Watch Urbane, the LTE variant won't be able to do that.


At present there is no word on availability or pricing but the LG Watch Urbane would be launched first in South Korea, then to other markets followed by the LTE WebOS variant.
