Micromax jumps on the 4G band-wagon with launch of Canvas Blaze 4G, Canvas Play 4G and Canvas Fire 4G

Micromax is finally pushing towards 4G smartphones in India in a big way. Today the company announced three new 4G enabled smartphones for India, Canvas Blaze 4G, Canvas Fire 4G and Canvas Play 4G. Let's take a look at their specifications, features and pricing.

Canvas Blaze 4G

The Canvas Blaze 4G is the most affordable of the bunch priced at Rs. 6999. It has a 4.5-inch FWVGA IPS display, runs on a Snapdragon 210 quad-core processor clocked at 1.1GHz with 1GB RAM, 8GB ROM and a 2000 mAh battery. It also has a 5MP auto-focus rear camera alongwith a 2MP front-facing camera. Android 5.1 Lollipop takes care of keeping the smartphone in check.

Canvas Fire 4G

The Canvas Fire line-up has been more about multimedia experience, and on the Canvas Fire 4G as well you have dual front-firing speakers. It has the same 4.5-inch FWVGA display here but the Snapdragon internals are swapped by the MediaTek MT6735 quad-core processor with 1GB RAM, 8GB ROM. The battery is a bit smaller on the Canvas Fire 4G at 1850 mAh compared to 2000 mAh on the Blaze 4G.


You have a 2MP selfie camera up front and a 5MP auto-focus rear camera here as well with Android 5.1 Lollipop running the show. It has been priced at Rs. 6990.

Canvas Play 4G

Now, this is more a mid-range smartphone featuring a 5.5-inch HD IPS display clad in Corning Gorilla Glass 3 with a 1.2GHz Quad-core Snapdragon processor, 2GB RAM, 16GB expandable storage, large 2820mAh battery, Android 5.1 Lollipop.


Even in the imaging department, it doesn't disappoint with a 13MP AF rear camera, 5MP front camera with 1080p recording on the rear unit. But the Canvas Play 4G is a bit pricey at Rs. 12,499.


All the three devices support both FDD-LTE and TDD-LTE bands in India and are available for purchase from all leading online and offline stores.
