Motorola announces the Moto G with 4.5-inch HD display, quad-core processor, Android 4.3 Jelly Bean, removable backcovers and $179 price tag

Motorola Moto G Announced

Motorola's second big launch of the year the Moto G is finally underway. The company has just announced the new mid-range smartphone which has a 4.5-inch 720p edge-to-edge display with Gorilla Glass 3 protection, Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 quad-core processor with 1 GB RAM and runs Android 4.3 Jelly Bean. The Moto G also has waterproof nano coating to protect it against liquid splashes. What's most interesting about the device is not specs, but that it will be available for just $179 unlocked and off contract. The event is being conducted in Brazil and the good news for us is that the phone is going to launch in India as well in January.

The Motorola Moto G also has removable backcovers called "Moto Shells" which are available in several colors, and this time around Motorola has also partnered with JBL and other partners for accessories matching your phone. The Moto G has been priced at $179 for 8 GB and $199 for 16 GB. It will run Android 4.3 at launch with a guaranteed update to Android 4.4 KitKat by January 14.
