OnePlus finally unveiled the successor to the OnePlus 3, after weeks of leaks and rumors. The OnePlus 3T packs a 5.5-inch 1080p Optic AMOLED display same as the previous variant running on the 2.35 GHz quad-core Snapdragon 821 with 6GB LPDDR4 memory, Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow.
OnePlus 3T: Detailed Specifications and Features
One major difference here is that you will now get the option of 128GB internal storage instead of just 64GB, but there's still no microSD card slot. But the OnePlus 3T is still a dual-SIM 4G smartphone with VoLTE support, dual-band WiFi ac as well as NFC. It also has a fingerprint sensor up front embedded in the home button making the device ready for wireless payment terminals.
On the camera front, you now have an improved 16MP front camera with f/2.0 wider aperture lens, Samsung sensor. While the 16MP f/2.0 camera has been retained packing, phase-detection autofocus for faster focusing, 4K video recording. The front camera can record 1080p videos.
The design of the smartphone is quite similar even though the company has managed to add a bigger 3400 mAh battery inside. You still have the unibody metal construction here, with a slightly curved back, 2.5D curved glass in the front which melts into the metal frame and solid metal buttons with great tactile response. The speaker too is still at the bottom of the phone along with the USB Type-C port which allows for Dash Charging support, which can get your phone's battery charged to 60 percent in less than half an hour. The 3.5mm headphone jack is still here too.
The display hasn't been changed either, which I am really quite happy with. There's still the 5.5-inch 1080p Optic AMOLED display with slightly punchier colors than what we generally get with Samsung Super AMOLED displays, but still, it looks great with those inky blacks. Ambient display mode has been retained as well.
But there's a new color in town, Gunmetal which will be exclusive to the OnePlus 3T and you will also be able to buy it in soft gold color option.
OnePlus 3T Pricing and Availability
OnePlus 3T has been priced at Rs. 29,999 ($439) and it will be available starting November 22nd in the US and November 28th in the UK and EU. At present, there is no word on when it will be available in India.
