Samsung Galaxy S6

Just last week, we started hearing rumors that Samsung was ditching the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 SoC for its own in-house Exynos chipset for the Galaxy S6. The reports of heating issues with the newly minted SoC seem to be the cause, although the new LG G Flex 2 too uses the chipset, there are talks of thermal throttling on the device to keep the heating issues in check.

Loosing such a huge client as Samsung would have meant considerable losses for Qualcomm. Therefore, the company has decided to modify its current Snapdragon 810 SoC to meet Samsung's expectations. The news comes in the wake of Qualcomm accepting the issues with its new SoC which they had denied so far.

Snapdragon 810 SoC is currently running on the LG G Flex 2 as well as the Xiaomi Mi Note Pro, which was launched recently. It seems that Qualcomm maybe looking deeper into the issues of the new SoC which might mean delay in manufacturing of the above mentioned smartphones.
