Spice Mobility has started seeding Android 5.1 Lollipop update for its Android One smartphone Spice Dream Uno Mi-498 and Dream Uno Mi-498H. This is the first time Google's un-announced Android 5.1 Lollipop build will be hitting devices, even before it becomes available on Nexus devices.

The Spice Dream Uno was launched under Google's Android One project in India running Android 4.4.4 KitKat at the time. From then the Android One project has covered a lot of geography including Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Nepal and more recently to Indonesia where 3 Android One smartphones were launched all running on the mysterious Android 5.1 Lollipop.

Till now Google has not said anything about the changelog of Android 5.1 Lollipop, but leaked information suggests improved RAM management, fixes for sudden app crashes, improved system stability, addition of Silent mode, better notifications and improvement to Material Design.

With this Spice Mobility becomes the first manufacturer of Android One smartphones to push Lollipop 5.1 update in the world and commenting on the same, Prashant Bindal, CEO, Spice Mobility Ltd said:

In line with our brand promise "Always the latest", we are delighted to be the first player to release the Android Lollipop 5.1 update, exclusively for our Spice Dream Uno users in India.

But Micromax Canvas A1 and Karbonn Sparkle V users shouldn't feel that jealous as Google has promised the update would be available in the coming weeks.
