Mobile Number Portability India

Phone calls have just become a bit easier in India. You will now be able to make phone calls to any STD number without adding "0" or "+91" before a number. The new regulation is already in affect at most telecom operators, others will follow soon.

So, essentially you can use the 10-digit mobile number of anyone to make calls without any prefix. This is in view of the DoT directive to implement Full Mobile Number Portability in India by July. DoT had given two months extension to Telecom operators which expires in July. With Full MNP, roaming charges might also be curbed.
