Youtube Music App

YouTube has finally launched its oft-rumored standalone Music app on Android and iOS. While most of us nowadays use YouTube to listen to music, the new app aids discovery. For e.g. if you search for an artist the new app will list all the official music videos, popular covers to remixes as well as concert videos.

Once you start playback, it never stops. YouTube Music app creates an endless playlist with related music. You also get a slider in the app using which you can choose either similar genre to keep playing or make the mix more adventurous.

Youtube Music Stations

There are three tabs in the app, the first one - Home shows your recently played tracks and will recommend artists & songs based on your catalog alongwith new music uploaded this week. The middle tab shows trending music while the last tab shows all your liked songs.

At present the service is live in a few regions. If its available in your region, you can sign in to get 14-day free trial of YouTube Red which allows background music playback of ad-free videos. You can read more about YouTube Red here. With the subscription, YouTube Music also gets background play support. YouTube has also packed in an Audio only mode, which doesn't load videos.

YouTube Music app is now available for both Android and iOS.
