Apple has launched its latest iPad Air (6th Gen) during its online event, as expected. This updated version is available in 11-inch and 13-inch sizes, both boasting a Liquid Retina display and an integrated Touch ID sensor located in the top button. Notably, it swaps out the previous Apple M1 chip for the new Apple M2 chip, featuring an 8-core CPU and a 10-core GPU.
Enhancements include landscape stereo speakers with Spatial Audio, with the 13-inch variant offering superior sound quality with double the bass compared to its predecessor. Additionally, it supports Wi-Fi 6E, promising up to twice the performance of the prior generation. Moreover, it is compatible with the new Apple Pencil Pro, equipped with a range of new functionalities such as a sensor in the barrel capable of detecting user squeezes.
A notable addition is the landscape 12MP front camera, which adjusts video capture to a more central and horizontal position during video calls. Furthermore, it incorporates Center Stage technology, utilizing machine learning to automatically ensure all participants remain in view. The 64GB model has been phased out, with the lineup now starting at 128GB and extending up to 1TB.
