Apple removed the 3.5 headphone jack from its latest headphones, which leaves very little choice for wired earphones. Although you will get lightning earpods within the box and a 3.5mm adapter as well but what about wireless audio aficionados? You just can't have Bluetooth as the sole option right, what about choice.

So Apple decided to take matters into its own hands with a new wireless communication protocol sitting inside it's W1 chip powering the AirPods. These include two completely wireless earbuds which can be used separately as well. Otherwise they pair together as left and right channels for your smartphone audio.

They have an elongated stem which includes the battery, slated to last 5 hours on a single charge but you can prop it into the carry case which also has a battery built in to give it more juice. Each earbud has an infrared sensor which tells it when they are plugged into our ears and an optical sensor as well to register your taps and perform several operations like playing, pausing music etc. You can just double tap on the AirPods to fire up Siri and start asking right away using the inbuilt microphone.

Apple has also streamlined the pairing process. Just open the charging case, and you will get a prompt on your iPhone to connect. So pairing code, confirmation or multiple steps. These are compatible with iPhone, iPods, Apple Watch and Macs running iOS 10, WatchOS 3 and macOS Sierra.

The Apple AirPods have been priced at $159 in the US, Rs. 15400 in India and will be available in late October.
