Intel has finally launched its latest 10th Gen Intel Core desktop processors with Comet Lake S-series. The company has also launched a flagship Intel Core i9-10900K processor that can turbo boost up to 5.3 GHz, which is very high then the other processors. These processors have comes with many technologies like Intel Thermal Velocity Boost, Intel Hyperthreading Technology, Intel Ethernet Connection I225, Intel Wi-Fi 6 AX201, and much more.

The Intel 10th Gen Core i9-10900K processor is companies fastest consumer desktop processor with 10 cores, 20 threads, and supports up to DDR4-2933 memory speeds. It can go up to 5.2GHz under Turbo Boost Max 3.0, 5.3/4.9GHz under Thermal Velocity Boost under single/multi-load, and finally is 4.8GHz under the all-core turbo.

In the Core-i7 series, the 10700KF looks to be the most powerful processor similar to the 9900K with the same 8 Core, 16 threads design, and clocks up to 5.0GHz but now at a much more affordable $349 approximate price point. There is also an attractive option to some if you're not into overclocking then you can go with Intel i7-10700F mid-range CPU under $298.

In the Intel Core-i5 series, the 10600KF comes with a 6-Core, 12-threads design at 4.1/4.8GHz clock speeds. This CPU has no Turbo Boost Max 3.0 and Thermal Velocity Boost, which is limited only in core i7 and i9 CPU. Its official support memory speeds up to DDR4-2666. The price is higher than AMD's Ryzen 5 3600 but the Intel has an advantage in clock speeds and now with the core and thread count to match. The Core-i5 10400F looks like an option for budget gaming CPU. There is no overclocking support but the price is $150 that might not matter.

Here are the important features of 10th Gen Processors are -

  • Intel Thermal Velocity Boost - Dynamic automatic boost across single-core and multicore workloads
  • Intel Hyperthreading Technology - Available across 10th Gen Intel Core i9 to i3 processors.
  • Enhanced Core & Memory Overclocking - Improved control over the overclocking processor and key system components.
  • Intel Ethernet Connection I225 - Delivers greater than two times the network speeds of 1GB Ethernet on existing cabling.
  • Intel Wi-Fi 6 AX201 - Intel Wi-Fi 6 (Gig+) is now integrated into 10th Gen Intel Core desktop processors.
