Apple is continuously working on its next iPhone model before the launch of the iPhone 15 series, which should be called the iPhone 16 Pro Max with a bigger screen compared to its predecessors. This information reveals by 9to5Mac, which analyzed early CAD files of the iPhone 16 Pro Max.
It appears that Apple is considering changes for its upcoming iPhone models, with the possibility of introducing the “Ultra” branding for the iPhone 16 Pro series. This move would follow a similar naming convention used for the Apple Watch Ultra last year.
iPhone 16 Pro Max Screen Size and Design -
According to the CAD-based images, the larger variant of the iPhone 16 Pro, potentially named iPhone 16 Ultra, is expected to feature a screen size of approximately 6.9 inches, and the overall body of the device will undergo significant growth. While the device will become taller, it will only slightly increase in width. This design choice is likely due to the existing challenge of comfortably holding the iPhone 14 Pro Max with one hand.
Approximate Measurements Comparison -
|iPhone 16 Ultra||iPhone 15 Pro Max|
|Width||77.2 mm|| 76.7 mm|
|Height||165.0 mm||159.8 mm|
|Screen Size||6.9 inches||6.7 inches|
This larger display could enable Apple to include a periscope zoom lens in the smaller iPhone 16 Pro, which is absent in the smaller iPhone 15 Pro. However, Apple has not announced an official launch date for the iPhone 15 series, which is expected to be revealed in the latter half of 2023. Recently, leaks suggest that the Pro model of the iPhone 15 may include an Action Button and other notable features.
We should know more details about both the iPhone 15 and potential iPhone 16 models that will become available in the upcoming months.
