iQOO is preparing to launch its latest flagship 5G smartphones the iQOO 9 and iQOO 9 Pro in India after they introduced the iQOO 9 series this week in China. iQOO confirmed that the iQOO 9 series will be launched in India soon, but didn't announce the launch date yet. The iQOO 7 Legend is an official smartphone for the finals of the ongoing Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI) series on January 13th, so might be the iQOO 9 series will launch in this BGMI series.
Nipun Marya, Chief Executive Officer, iQOO, said to the IANS that "We want to be aggressive with iQOO and cater to the segment of young people who are passionate about gaming and e-sports and wish to play mobile games on high-performing devices. iQOO seems to be a perfect choice for this community,".
Last year, the company launched the iQOO 7 series in India, which is one of the popular smartphones between the Rs.30.000 to Rs.50,000 price segment, but we don't know why the company did not launch the iQOO 8 series in India.
It is not clear if the company is planning to bring a budget model for the iQOO 9 series since the starting price of the phone is quite high in China, where the high-end model 12GB+512GB option cost is 5999 yuan (US$ 943 / Rs. 70,030 approx.) for the iQOO 9 Pro.
We still don’t know the exact launch time frame of the iQOO 9 series in India yet, but we can expect an announcement most possibly in the BGMI Series finals on January 13th. We should know more details in the coming days.
