Microsoft is planning an event for May 20th, where a new Surface tablet is expected to be unveiled. The invitation reads "Join us for a small gathering", which certainly hints that we might be looking at the arrival of the Surface Mini to take on the iPad Mini. Microsoft's strategic shift into becoming a hardware & devices company hasn't gone too well.
Microsoft said that they suffered around a billion dollar loss in revenue due to unsold Surface RT stock in a previous earning call. What remains to be seen is whether Microsoft would still push the Windows RT platform with the new surface or we can finally get a decent full Windows tablet from the company.
