The new Moto 360 is now official. It was announced today at IFA in two size variants, one for men and another for women alongwith the Moto 360 Sport which will be available later in the year.

The larger Moto 360 2015 has a 46mm dial with a 1.56-inch IPS display, same as the original Moto 360 while the smaller one measures in at 42mm with a 1.37-inch display. The new watches sport even smaller bezels, but that's due to the "flat tire" at the bottom of the display which Motorola has been criticized for earlier. But the company maintains, its necessary to give the watch better screen-to-body ratio.

Moto 360 2nd Generation 2015

This time around Motorola has given up on the archaic TI-OMAP processor, replaced by the Snapdragon 400 1.2GHz dual-core processor you will find on most other Android Wear smartwatches in the market. You have the same 512MB RAM, 4GB ROM on the device. The larger 46mm Moto 360 has a 400 mAh battery capable of giving around 2 days of juice while the smaller one gets a 300 mAh unit.

The new Moto 360 is IP67 dust and water resistant, comes with wireless charging, heart-rate sensor and ambient light sensor embedded in the flat tire up front. Connectivity options include Bluetooth, WiFi, but no NFC.

Moto 360 Sport 2015

The Moto 360 Sport variant, is targeted towards fitness tracking and comes with built-in GPS, heart-rate sensor and an AnyLight display which should be viewable in direct sunlight. This will be available later in the year.
