HMD Global has launched its latest Nokia 3210 smartphone, taking cues from its iconic predecessor launched 25 years ago. This refreshed version showcases a 2.4-inch TFT LCD screen boasting QVGA resolution, along with a 2MP primary camera accompanied by an LED flash.
Running on the S30+ platform, it embraces Cloud Apps, facilitating access to news, weather forecasts, and YouTube Shorts. The device is driven by the Unisoc T107 chipset, delivering 64MB RAM and 128MB of internal storage, expandable up to 32GB via a microSD card slot.
In the realm of connectivity, it flaunts Bluetooth 5.0 capability and incorporates a 3.5mm headphone jack, FM radio, MP3 player, and the timeless Snake game. Sporting a detachable 1,450mAh battery, it charges through USB-C and provides a talk time of up to 9.8 hours.
HMD Global acknowledges a renewed interest in "Dumbphones," exemplified by the Nokia 3210 (2024), offering a break from reliance on smartphones. Following the positive reception of the Nokia 2660 Flip phone in 2023, HMD foresees continued expansion in the feature phone sector this year.
Amid worries regarding excessive smartphone usage, particularly among young adults, HMD perceives these devices as a remedy for digital detoxification.
