Nubia has officially launched its second-generation flagship smartphone in its “beanbag” series, the Nubia NaviX Ultra, describing it as the world’s first AI-intelligent smartphone.
Developed under ZTE’s nubia brand, the NaviX Ultra features deep integration with the consumer version of the Doubao Mobile Assistant. The smartphone places a strong emphasis on system-level AI agent capabilities, allowing it to automate multi-step tasks across different applications.
Core Hardware Specifications
The nubia NaviX Ultra is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 mobile platform. The Galaxy Cooling System handles thermal management and includes a large 7,100 mm² three-dimensional vapor chamber.
- Display: The smartphone features a 6.78-inch LTPO 2.0 display with an adaptive refresh rate ranging from 1Hz to 144Hz. It offers 100% DCI-P3 color gamut coverage and a peak brightness of 4,500 nits, enabled by Q10+ luminescent material. The display supports DC dimming along with 2,160Hz high-frequency PWM dimming.
- Camera Setup: The rear camera system comprises a 200MP primary sensor, a 50MP ultra-wide-angle camera, and a 64MP periscope telephoto camera. Imaging features include “AI Image Master” and voice-guided composition functions.
- Battery & Charging: Despite measuring just 7.62mm in thickness, the smartphone packs a 7,100mAh fifth-generation Nanhai battery. It supports 90W wired fast charging and 50W wireless fast charging.
Connectivity: The NaviX Ultra uses the Starry Sky Global Communication System, a network engine designed to improve signal stability.
AI Integration and Operating Architecture

The NaviX Ultra introduces a dedicated hardware AI button with integrated capacitive fingerprint recognition. The physical button works alongside Seed’s full-duplex voice model, allowing users to interrupt conversations naturally without having to restart the dialogue.
According to nubia, its voice recognition system achieves a 48% higher AI wake-up rate in noisy environments, such as subways and transit hubs, compared to competing devices. It also delivers a 21% improvement in sentence recognition accuracy.
The system supports more than ten regional dialects, including Cantonese and Minnan. Users can trigger the assistant through voice proximity detection, over-the-air voice activation, or earphone tap controls.
The software experience is built around the consumer debut of the Doubao Mobile Assistant, which is based on four key technical pillars:
- Deep Reasoning: Automatically breaks down multi-step prompts and creates execution plans.
- Generalization: Transfers knowledge between different applications to handle unfamiliar workflows.
- Self-Correction: Automatically adjusts the execution path when unexpected system states occur.
- Extended Context Adherence: Maintains consistency with user-defined parameters during long-running tasks.
nubia claims that the system achieves an end-to-end task execution success rate of more than 80% for single-sentence cross-app requests. The AI agent can interact with third-party services, including Cao Cao Mobility, system-level mapping services, music platforms, and Lark.
Tasks can also run silently in the background through multi-threaded scheduling and request queuing, allowing users to continue using the smartphone while AI operations are being processed.
Everyday Utility and Security Framework
The NaviX Ultra also includes a range of AI-powered tools focused on data processing, contextual understanding, and system management.
- Screen & Vision Search: Screen Q&A can instantly recognize information displayed on the screen and execute related actions. Camera-based video calls can analyze real-world scenes, while Screen Recognition Shopping identifies products and directs users to relevant purchasing channels.
- Communication Management: “Smart Call” can manage incoming calls using automated or customized response scripts. “Priority Notifications” highlights important alerts according to user-defined rules.
- Productivity: “Recording Notes” automatically transcribes and summarizes recordings through Lark Notes integration, while supporting natural-language searches across archived audio.
- User Memory: The system can retain explicitly authorized user preferences to adjust future behavior and supports natural-language queries across authorized local files.
On the security front, nubia stated that the NaviX Ultra is the first mobile device to obtain official registration for an intelligent agent large model. The smartphone uses a full-chain security architecture incorporating the SAEP security protocol, granular lock-screen access permissions, and international privacy certifications.
Nubia has also announced plans to open its system-level agent APIs to third-party developers in the future, potentially allowing developers to integrate the platform’s AI agent capabilities into additional applications and services.
