OnePlus has been steadily sharing key details about the upcoming OnePlus 15R over the past few weeks, ahead of its official launch on December 17. The company has now confirmed the smartphone’s front camera specifications.
Camera upgrades -
The OnePlus 15R will feature a 32-megapixel front camera, doubling the resolution of the 16-megapixel selfie sensor found on the OnePlus 13R.
OnePlus has also confirmed two notable firsts for the R series:
- Autofocus support - The selfie camera will now include autofocus for sharper and more detailed images.
- 4K video recording - The front camera will support 4K video recording at 30fps, a significant upgrade over the 1080p limit on the previous model.
On the rear, the OnePlus 15R will leverage the DetailMax Engine, first introduced with the OnePlus 15. This brings advanced computational photography features to the R series, including Ultra Clear Mode, Clear Burst, and the Clear Night Engine. The main rear camera will also support 4K video recording at up to 120fps.
Performance and battery -
OnePlus has already confirmed that the 15R will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chipset. According to the company, the processor has been co-defined and co-optimized specifically for the device, marking its first global availability in a smartphone. The handset will pack a large 7,400mAh battery.
Launch and Availability -
The OnePlus 15R will be sold via Amazon.in as well as the OnePlus India website. The full launch is scheduled for December 17 at an event in Bengaluru, which will be livestreamed. Tickets for in-person attendance are currently available on BookMyShow.
