OnePlus has collaborated with Disney (LucasArts) to launch a Limited Edition Star Wars OnePlus 5T. On Saturday, the company has showcased the device as a third-anniversary edition at the Comic-Con event in Bengaluru, India. They are conducting an event on December 14 in Mumbai for the formal launch of OnePlus 5T Star Wars edition.
The device will go on sale via Amazon, OnePlusStore.in and the company’s experience zones in Bengaluru and Noida from December 15 (the day Star Wars: The Last Jedi is going to release). The price and storage details of the special edition haven’t been revealed yet.
From what we have seen at Comic-Con, they have made a few changes in the appearance. The phone now has a StormTrooper look with a white back and black front. The back is adorned with the Star Wars logo. Moreover, the alert slider has got a new paint job and can now be seen in red. An official teaser video on YouTube shows the device will get a Stormtrooper background as well.
Chances are slim for OnePlus to alter the specifications of the regular 5T to come up with the special edition. To recall, it sports a 6.01-inch full HD+ display with 18:9 aspect ratio. Starting at a price tag of Rs. 32999, it packs in a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor underneath the hood, clocked at 2.5 GHz, coupled with 6/8 GB RAM and 64/128 GB onboard storage.
OnePlus has slightly altered the camera on the OnePlus 5T from the OnePlus 5 and included a wide-aperture lens on 5T to improve the low-light performance. Another change is a lightning fast face-unlock feature using the front camera.
The company also recently launched a Lava Red variant of the OnePlus 5T exclusively for China. At present, it is not known whether the company will be selling the Limited Edition OnePlus 5T Star Wars variant in other countries.
