OPPO is all set to launch its latest 5G smartphone Reno5 Pro 5G in India on January 18th, 2021. It comes with a 6.5-inch FHD+ 90Hz OLED display, runs on the latest MediaTek Dimensity 1000+ SoC, and has a quad rear camera setup where a 64 MP primary camera along with an 8 MP Ultra-wide camera, 2 MP macro lens, and a 2 MP depth sensor. On the front side has a 32 MP punch-hole front-facing camera.

With regards to its camera capabilities, the company has added the Full Dimension Fusion (FDF) Portrait Video system by uses AI Highlight Video technology. It uses AI to examine the lighting conditions of the scene and apply the appropriate algorithm from Ultra Night Video or Live HDR.

The system uses adaptive algorithms to enhance the brightness and dynamic range of the image by reducing noise in the image. This is used for both night-time shots and daytime conditions as well. Adaptive Noise Reduction is worked as combines the usual multi-frame fusion with temporal noise reduction, which is basically using previous frames that depend on the adjusted to compensate for camera movement. This also allows the system to reduce ghosting due to fast movement.

OPPO AI Highlight Video System

The second portion of the Quality Enhancement engine is the Ultra Steady Video 3 to improve video stabilization in various scenarios such as running, jumping, and more activities. The processing time takes 20 milliseconds as Compared to the previous image processing system, AI Highlight Video uses 40% less power but improves the brightness and clarity of the image.
