Realme has officially confirmed the launch of its next mid-range smartphone in the Neo series, the realme Neo8, in China on January 12. It will arrive as the successor to the Neo7, which was introduced in December 2024.
The Vice President of realme China revealed that the phone will use flagship-grade luminous display materials sourced from Samsung. He also added that the device will support native ultra-high frame rates, promising top-tier performance.

Realme has released the first teaser image showcasing the phone in a Cyber Purple color option. The teaser reveals a transparent RGB design along with the return of the brand’s iconic Awakening Halo element.
Chase Xu, CMO and Vice President of realme, stated that the Awakening Halo system, combined with the transparent RGB design, makes the phone instantly eye-catching when illuminated. He also noted that the metal frame and transparent glass back deliver a premium feel, both in terms of materials and craftsmanship.

The realme Neo8 will be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 SoC, featuring the same flagship architecture and manufacturing process as the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, and is said to achieve a benchmark score of up to 3.58 million.
According to earlier reports, the smartphone is expected to feature a 6.78-inch 1.5K 165Hz LTPS OLED flat display from Samsung, a 50MP periscope telephoto camera, a 3D ultrasonic fingerprint sensor, IP69 dust and water resistance, and a massive 8000mAh battery.
