Realme has already confirmed the launch of the realme Neo8 smartphone in China later this January, and today, the company has officially unveiled key details about the phone’s display at an event.
The realme Neo8 will feature Samsung’s M14 flagship luminescent display material, which improves luminous efficiency by 26%. The screen will offer a local peak brightness of up to 6500 nits, 3800 nits brightness in sunlight, and a manual peak brightness of 1000 nits.

According to realme, the panel covers 103% of the DCI-P3 color gamut for richer colors and better layering. Screen lifespan has been improved by 50%, with the T95 brightness decay test reaching up to 1500 hours. Power consumption is also reduced by 16% compared to conventional 144Hz displays.
The phone will sport a 165Hz display aimed at faster operation and smoother gaming. Compared to its predecessor, frame rates are said to be up by 27%, while responsiveness improves by 12%. The display supports five major esports game categories—shooting, MOBA, racing, fighting, and rhythm—and more than 30 mobile games will run at native 165fps.

The Neo8 also debuts a new generation of Magic Touch control, powered by a custom Magic Touch chip. It supports a 3800Hz instantaneous touch sampling rate and a 360Hz ten-finger touch sampling rate. Combined with flagship-level touch-display synchronization technology, this results in smoother and more stable interactions, with touch response improved by 8ms.
For eye care, the upgraded Green Field Eye Protection system brings flagship-level full-brightness DC dimming with near-zero flicker, an SVM as low as 0.05, and TÜV Rheinland-certified hardware-level low blue light protection. Additionally, AI-powered active eye protection works across scenarios to detect eye fatigue, remind users to rest their eyes, and intelligently adjust the color temperature.

realme has already confirmed the phone’s design, featuring a transparent RGB look and the return of the iconic Awakening Halo element. Now, the detailed specifications have also surfaced. The Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chipset is confirmed, and the phone is tipped to feature a 6.71-inch 1.5K LTPO quad-curved display, up to 24GB RAM, up to 1TB storage, a triple rear camera setup with 50MP + 50MP + 200MP (3.7x), a 50MP front camera, a 3D ultrasonic fingerprint scanner, IP69K rating, and a 7200mAh battery with 120W wired and 80W wireless fast charging.
realme has confirmed that the Neo8 will be introduced next week, with the exact launch date to be announced soon.
