Xiaomi's Redmi brand has launched its first gaming 5G smartphone the Redmi K40 Gaming Edition in China. It has a 6.67-inch FHD+ flexible AMOLED screen with a 120Hz high refresh rate, 480Hz simultaneous three-fingerprint simultaneous touch sampling rate, 1.8mm trilateral equal width, and 2.7mm ultra-narrow chin. It runs on the Dimensity 1200 6nm processor with up to 12GB of LPDDR4X RAM, 256GB UFS 3.1, and works on MIUI 12.5 based on Android 11.

The phone features multi-stacked graphite layers combined with super-large vapor chambers, and new aerospace-grade heat dissipation material with a built-in “white graphene” layer that covers 11540mm², which not only efficiently dissipates heat for the charging chip, but also offers good insulation to reduce its impact on nearby antennas to reduce the temperature by 2°C.

The phone also has a magnetic dual-trigger design that allows users to play games using four fingers, instead of two. This gives stable and realistic pressing feedback with the help of its mechanical structure with a lifespan of up to 1.5 million taps. The phone has Dolby Atmos which is approved by the JBL synthesis certification system that offers a truly immersive gaming experience.

It has a triple rear camera setup where a 64MP primary camera along with an 8MP ultra-wide-angle camera, a 2MP telemacro camera, and on the front side has a 16 MP punch-hole front-facing camera. The phone also comes with an X-axis Linear Motor and is powered by a large 5,065mAh battery that supports 67W fast charging out of the box, which can charge the battery up to 100% in just 42 minutes. It features  RGB lighting and gaming details and also adopts a low-key and restrained overall appearance.

Redmi K40 Gaming Edition Bruce Lee Special Edition 1

The Redmi K40 Gaming Edition comes in Black, Silver, and White colors, and the company also introduced a limited Bruce Lee Special Edition in 12GB RAM with a 256GB storage version. It comes in a unique finish on the back and also comes with a special case in the box. 

The phone will be available from April 30th only in China from April 30th, and the pre-order is started from today.
