Samsung has announced that it will soon introduce “a new layer of privacy” designed to “keep everyday moments truly yours.” In its official press release, the company says it plans to unveil a feature that protects your phone from shoulder surfing wherever you are, letting you check messages or enter passwords on public transport without worrying about prying eyes.

This essentially confirms the long-rumored privacy screen feature for the Galaxy S26 Ultra. According to Samsung, the feature will be highly customizable. Users will be able to enable it for specific apps, activate it only when entering sensitive information in “more private areas” of the phone, or even apply it to particular elements such as notification pop-ups.

Samsung has now officially acknowledged one of the Galaxy S26 Ultra’s most frequently leaked features. The company describes this as a “tailored approach,” allowing users to fine-tune the privacy settings or turn them off completely, instead of relying on a simple on-or-off privacy screen protector applied to the display. As per leaks, Samsung’s solution is built directly into the screen itself, which is what enables this level of customization.

Samsung says the technology has taken more than five years of engineering, testing, and refinement. With the feature now nearly ready, more official details are expected to be revealed soon.
