Samsung has launched its latest foldable smartphone the Galaxy Z Fold3 5G at its Galaxy Unpacked event, which is the successor to last year’s Galaxy Z Fold2. It has a 7.6-inch QXGA+ Infinity Flex Dynamic AMOLED 2X screen on the inside with a 120Hz adaptive refresh rate, Samsung Ultra-Thin Glass that’s 80% stronger, and it’s 29% brighter than the previous. It also has a 6.2-inch HD+ Dynamic AMOLED display that also has a 120Hz refresh rate, and these screens are protected by Corning Gorilla Glass Victus.
The company introduced its first phone that has a 4MP under-display camera on the inside, and there is a 10MP camera on the outside screen. The phone comes with an Armour Aluminium frame which is the strongest aluminum frame yet, as per the company. It also has IPX8 ratings, making it the first foldable phone with a water resistance rating, the same as the Z Flip3.
It has Flex mode features, which let you do more at once like joining a video call on the device’s top screen while checking meeting notes on the bottom. There is an updated Multi-Active Window, App Pair, and new Taskbar that can be used to quickly switch between apps without returning to the Home screen.
The Z Fold3 also supports S Pen, and the S Pen for Z Fold3 comes in two options - S Pen Fold Edition and S Pen Pro, both specially engineered retractable Pro tip with force limit technology to protect Z Fold3’s Main Screen for peace of mind while using the S Pen.
