Moto G4 Plus comes in two variants, one with 2GB RAM, 16GB storage and the other with 3GB RAM, 32GB Storage, but to Srinjoy's surprise he got a 2GB RAM variant with 32GB storage while he paid for the 3GB RAM variant.
As you can see in the images above, the device has 32GB on-board storage with 2GB RAM, an oddity which shouldn't exist but was purchased from Amazon India. At present there is just one report of the Moto G4 Plus variant with this storage/memory combination.
The weird thing here is how did this variant came to exist, and if one such unit exists there may be chances of more people out there who are going to pay for the 3GB RAM variant but would get the 2GB variant instead. This is not a case of Amazon goofing up with deliveries of a particular SKU, but its a completely different hardware variant. It seems more like a manufacturing issue, therefore Lenovo needs to step in before more units like these are shipped to customers.
We have reached out to Lenovo for a comment and they are investigating the issue. Till then Srinjoy has decided to send the device back to Amazon for a replacement.
