Xiaomi started the bezel-less revolution in the smartphone industry with the Mi Mix. The successor to the Mi Mix was launched last month in China and now, Manu Jain, the Vice President and Managing Director of Xiaomi India has confirmed that the Mi Mix 2 will be coming to India on October 10th.
The India launch is set for October 10 and it will happen at an event in New Delhi. The last flagship Xiaomi launched in India was the Mi 5, which wasn't very well received. After it's disappointing sales, the original Mi Mix, Mi Note 2, and Mi 6 never made it to India.
But thankfully the Mi Mix 2 is coming here. It sports a 5.99-inch full HD+ display with 18:9 aspect ratio. The bottom chin is now thinner and still houses the 5MP selfie shooter. It runs on the Snapdragon 835 chipset clocked at 2.45 GHz, coupled with Adreno 540 GPU. Xiaomi has led the way in using Ceramic on smartphones and the Mi Mix 2 too gets a Ceramic back with a metal frame.
There are multiple variants in terms of RAM and storage. There's a 6GB LPDDR4x RAM variant with 64GB / 128GB / 256GB (UFS 2.1) storage along with an 8GB LPDDR4x RAM variant with 128GB storage. Let's see which one makes its way to India.
When it comes to the camera, Mi Mix 2 features 12MP rear camera with Sony IMX386 sensor (no dual camera setup) here along with a dual-tone LED flash. The 3400 mAh battery supports fast charging and the Mi Mix 2 runs on MIUI 9 based on Android 7.1.1 Nougat.
The pricing starts from 3299 yuan (Rs. 32,350 approx.). We will have to wait a few more days to know the final price in India.
