Video-on-demand service, HOOQ, comes to India with over 15,000 international and local titles

HOOQ, Asia's own Video-on-demand service has made its way to India. If you haven't heard of them, HOOQ is a joint-venture between Singtel, Sony Pictures Television and Warner Bros. It gives the users ability to stream or even watch offline Hollywood and Indian movies, television content with any device, be it your smartphone, PC, tablets or event your Android powered smart TV.


What's on Offer

HOOQ is bringing a huge catalogue of movies and TV series to India. There are over 5000 Hollywood movies, TV series and shows including the best from Sony and Warner Bros., Disney, DreamWorks, MiraMax like Harry Potter, Spider Man, Iron Man, Pulp Fiction and TV Series - Nikita, The Shield, Friends, Lost and Grey's Anatomy.


But that's not all, Indian movies and TV series have also made it to the VOD streaming service. HOOQ has partnered with Yash Raj Films, UTV Disney, Rajshri, Reliance, Shemaroo, Sri Balaji and over 50 other studios to bring Indian content on-board. These include over 10,000 Bollywood movies and TV Shows.


You can access the service through its website, hooq.tv. The service automatically adjusts quality based on available bandwidth and you can set-up a quality preference as well for streaming. There is a bandwidth indicator to keep tabs on your internet connection.


Pricing

This is the best part, HOOQ will start operations in June and you would have to pay just Rs. 199 to access the service.
