All Motorola customers with first-gen Moto devices waiting on a Lollipop update can breathe a sign of relief, Motorola has just announced that they are going to skip on Android 5.0 Lollipop and update the fist-gen Moto X, Moto E and Moto G 4G directly to Android 5.1 Lollipop. We reviewed the recently launched Moto E (2nd-Gen) 3G variant and found it to be a bit underwhelming, you can have a look at the video review below.
David Schuster, Motorola's Senior Director of Product Management said in a post on Google+ that the company was actively testing Android 5.0 Lollipop for all first-gen devices but now will completely focus on making Android 5.1 available for these devices and that testing had already begun on this front. However, he did not mention any timeline as to when these updates will roll out.
Motorola has an excellent track record of updating its smartphones and if they are taking time to get the update on your device, its just to make it perfect.
