Xiaomi has released stable JHCMIBH41.1 OTA update for the Redmi 1S which includes better memory management, stability improvement, a scanner app among other changes to the Messaging app, File Explorer, Email app and Calendar. Since Indian users are still on version 36, the update is a hefty 515 MB in size.

The update brings the use of zRAM which compresses space occupied unused apps in RAM, therefore increasing available memory. One of the major issues with the Redmi 1S is memory management which causes apps to force-close or become unresponsive mid-work. Then there's the heating issues with the phone which too seem to have been resolved.
