HONOR has launched its latest flagship smartphone in the Magic8 Series, the HONOR Magic 8 RSR Porsche Design smartphone in China, delivering on its earlier announcement. The device is available in Slate Gray and Moonstone colour options, showcasing Porsche’s signature design language inspired by supercars, featuring sleek, dynamic lines.
The rear panel is crafted from microcrystalline nano-ceramic, which the company claims is “the only true ceramic in the market.” It offers a Mohs hardness rating of 8.5 and an A0-grade mirror polish, giving the phone a smooth and premium in-hand feel. Despite its premium build, the phone is 10% lighter, while the rear camera module design draws inspiration from Porsche’s iconic matrix headlights.
Under the hood, the smartphone is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor, paired with up to 24GB of 10.7Gbps LPDDR5X RAM. It also supports HONOR Hongyan Communication, enabling connectivity via both Tiantong and BeiDou satellites. The phone is protected by HONOR Giant Rhino Glass and carries IP68 and IP69K ratings for dust and water resistance.
The Magic 8 RSR Porsche Design also supports a professional imaging kit that includes a magnetic camera grip for improved handling, which HONOR claims delivers a DSLR-like shooting experience. The custom phone case features a 67mm filter adapter ring and can be paired with a 200mm Nox telephoto lens using a Kepler lens architecture to enhance long-range image quality.
On the imaging front, the phone is equipped with the AiMAGE colour engine, which restores real-world colours through multi-camera and multi-sensor fusion processing. AI is used for white balance adjustment and accurate colour detection. The image stabilisation engine is CIPA 6.5 certified, enabling stable shots and allowing handheld shooting for up to three seconds with both the main and telephoto cameras without noticeable blur.
Powering the device is a massive 7,200mAh silicon-carbon battery that supports 120W wired fast charging and 80W wireless fast charging. It is also compatible with the 100W PPS universal fast charging standard.
