HONOR has launched its newest addition to its GS smartwatch lineup, the HONOR Watch GS 5 in China, and the successor to the Watch GS 3, which debuted in 2022. According to the company, this is the industry’s first and only smart wearable to support research for sudden cardiac arrest screening.
The watch is designed to identify potential heart health risks and help users better manage their cardiovascular health by evaluating the vagus nerve’s ability to regulate heart rate through heart rate deceleration force detection. In addition, high-risk users will receive professional telephone follow-ups from the research team, ensuring timely health guidance and intervention.
The smartwatch places a strong focus on heart health research, offering comprehensive monitoring of cardiac status. It provides risk screening and early warnings for conditions such as suspected atrial fibrillation, premature beats, sleep apnea, and irregular heart rhythms. It also supports 24/7 continuous health tracking, including heart rate, blood oxygen levels, stress, and sleep HRV.
HONOR has collaborated with Professor Gu Dongfeng’s team to introduce a cardiovascular and cerebrovascular risk assessment model tailored specifically for Chinese users. Built on internationally recognized biomedical models, the system delivers accurate and personalized risk evaluations along with actionable recommendations.
In terms of design, the Watch GS 5 measures just 9.9mm in thickness and weighs only 26g. It features an aluminium alloy bezel paired with a genuine leather strap. Despite its slim profile, the watch packs a 495mAh silicon-carbon anode battery, delivering up to 23 days of battery life in Bluetooth mode and up to 9 days with the always-on display enabled.

The HONOR Watch GS 5 is available in Black and Khaki colour options with a leather strap and is priced at 699 yuan (approximately US$100 / Rs. 9,115). The smartwatch is currently open for pre-orders and will go on sale in China starting January 23.
