Motorola had previously confirmed the name of the upcoming smartphone, the Edge 50 Pro, along with some of its specifications, although the exact System-on-Chip (SoC) had not been officially disclosed. However, recent findings on a Geekbench listing have now revealed that the device will indeed be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 SoC. Additionally, the listing indicates that the phone will boast 12GB of RAM and will run on Android 14.

The Motorola Edge 50 Pro featuring the Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 SoC utilizes the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 (4nm) Mobile Platform paired with the Adreno 720 GPU. This chipset, unveiled last year, incorporates Kryo CPUs, including 1 x 2.63 GHz ARM Cortex-A715 prime core, 3 x A715 performance cores clocked at up to 2.4 GHz, and 4 x Cortex-A510 efficiency cores operating at up to 1.8 GHz.

According to the Geekbench 6 scores, the device achieves a single-core score of 1097 and a multi-core score of 3114. While these scores outperform the MediaTek Dimensity 7200, it's worth noting that both the Dimensity 8200 and Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2 offer superior performance.

Interestingly, the OnePlus Nord CE 4, slated for release on April 1st, just a few days before the Motorola Edge 50 Pro, will also be equipped with the same Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 chip. However, in contrast, the Moto X50 Ultra set to debut in China in April will feature the latest Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 SoC.

Motorola has officially announced a 6.7-inch 1.5K 144Hz curved pOLED display boasting up to 2000 nits peak brightness, along with support for HDR 10+ and Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection.

The device is set to feature a 50MP rear camera, accompanied by a 13MP ultra-wide camera with macro capabilities, and a 10MP telephoto camera capable of 50x hybrid zoom. Additionally, it will offer various camera features such as AI adaptive stabilization, autofocus tracking, an AI photo enhancement engine, and tilt mode. Notably, Motorola claims that this camera is the world's first Pantone-validated camera, capturing true colors as intended.

It appears that Motorola will unveil only the Edge 50 Pro during the event, as there is no indication of the Edge 50 Fusion. Rumors suggest that the more affordable Fusion variant could be powered by the Snapdragon 6 Gen 1.

While the Edge 50 Pro is expected to be considerably less expensive, it remains uncertain whether there will be an Edge 50 Ultra model for the global market, akin to the Moto X50 Ultra featuring the 8s Gen 3 chipset.

Further details regarding the chipset and battery are expected to be officially confirmed in the coming days.
