OnePlus has officially confirmed its upcoming flagship smartphone in the Ace6 series, the Ace6 Ultra will launch in China on April 28, after teasers.

The company has also previewed a dedicated gaming controller designed for the device. Described as an industry-first form factor tailored for shooting games, the controller introduces upgrades across grip design, field of view, control layout, button feedback, and response speed.

Commenting on the new accessory, OnePlus China head Louis Jie highlighted that traditional multi-finger controls—used for actions like aiming, shooting, movement, and combos—can often feel cluttered. This new control approach aims to streamline those interactions, making complex gameplay smoother. He added that shifting from two-finger controls to setups involving six or even eight fingers can significantly elevate a player’s performance.

The controller also brings a more ergonomic handheld design, a cleaner on-screen view, and four physical buttons that enhance control precision. Combined with improved micro-feedback and faster response times, it delivers a distinctly new mobile gaming experience, especially for shooting game enthusiasts.

Earlier, OnePlus showcased the “Ace Awakening” color variant, which features a 3D stereoscopic engraving process that creates a unique texture. As light moves across the surface, it produces a striking purple flame effect.

The device also incorporates a Metal Cube Deco with a flat metal layout that avoids direct finger contact. Additionally, a heat-insulating metal frame with large rounded corners improves heat management while offering a more comfortable grip. Another variant, called “Metal Storm,” will also be available. The Ace6 Ultra is expected to come in multiple configurations: 12GB + 256GB, 16GB + 256GB, 12GB + 512GB, 16GB + 512GB, and 16GB + 1TB.

Louis Jie also confirmed that the phone will feature a 165Hz ultra-high refresh rate BOE display, claimed to match desktop-level e-sports standards. Based on earlier reports, the device is likely to sport a 6.78-inch 1.5K BOE panel, be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 9500 processor, and pack a massive ~8500mAh battery with support for 100W fast charging.
