Recently, OnePlus confirmed that its upcoming flagship smartphone the OnePlus 9 series will be announced on March 23. Now, the company has confirmed that it will be introduced unleashing the much-anticipated OnePlus Watch smartwatch on March 23 alongside the OnePlus 9 series.

In the tweet of OnePlus CEO, Pete Lau said that “Many of you said you wanted a watch, and as you might have heard over the weekend—we’re making one, to be released early next year,” Lau’s confirmation followed a report that claimed OnePlus was working closely with Google to “improve the connectivity between the Wear OS ecosystem, Android TV, and Android smartphones to create this ability for better device interoperability across the ecosystems.”
As we know that the OnePlus launch the OnePlus Band last year, which is its first wearable device. The company had teased a smartwatch back in 2015. In October 2020, the company released the first teaser of its smartwatch, which suggested that it will go official in the coming months. In December, OnePlus CEO Pete Lau confirmed that it will be announced its smartwatch in early 2021.
Last month, the actual design of the OnePlus Watch confirmed by DPMA in Germany, which reveals sports and leather bands for the watch. The smartwatch comes with a round dial, two buttons on the right side, a heart rate sensor on the back along charging pins. It will come with a silicone strap which is similar to the OnePlus band strap and other fitness bands, and it looks like a metal casing.
According to the earlier reports, the company could be launched two models of the OnePlus Watch. The one with the W310GB model number may feature a square-shaped dial and it could be called as OnePlus Watch. The other variant comes with model number W501GB that has a circular screen and it may break cover as the OnePlus Watch RX. Both models are expected to announce in India since they have already received certification BIS (Bureau of Indian Standards). The OnePlus Watch series is will run on Wear OS.
OnePlus doesn’t reveal any information in its Tweet other than to confirm when it’ll be unveiled. We should know all the information alongside the OnePlus 9 series announcement.
