We have already had a pretty good look at the specs of the Oppo R9S when it surfaced on AnTuTu earlier and now we have some press renders of the phone which show off a more rounded design and the new slot-antenna design on the back-cover.
You can see the three thin slots at the back for the antenna that run under the rear camera and near the bottom of the phone at well. This would enable better signal strength on the device no matter how you hold it as well as get rid of the unsightly antenna lines that we have become accustomed to on metal smartphones.
From what we have heard till now the Oppo R9S will be one of the first smartphones to use the Sony IMX 398 sensor with 16MP resolution, f/1.7 aperture capable of recording 4K videos. At present there is no word as to whether there would be Optical Image Stabilization onboard but we would have a 16MP front camera for selfies. The phone would run on the Snapdragon 625 octa-core processor with 4GB RAM, 64GB internal storage and a 3010 mAh battery. Display size is pegged at 5.5-inches with 1080p resolution and then there's the R9s Plus model which would come with a larger 6-inch display with similar cameras. You can also see the front fingerprint sensor on the phone embedded in the home button.
The Oppo R9S will be unveiled on October 19th in Shanghai, we will get to know more about the phone in the coming days.
