Qualcomm Release official Snapdragon 888 SoC benchmark results; faster than 865+ SoC

Snapdragon 888 5G benchmarks

Qualcomm has revealed official benchmarking results for its latest flagship chipset Snapdragon 888 SoC after introduced on December 1 with full details and specifications. The tests were performed on a special Qualcomm reference device that has a 6.65-inch FHD display with a 120Hz refresh rate, powered by the Snapdragon 888 SoC with 12GB LPDDR5 RAM and 512GB UFS 3.0 storage.

According to the video, each benchmark was performed three times to giving us an average score with the default setting used on their reference device. The full list of benchmarks tested by Qualcomm includes AnTuTu, GeekBench, GFXBench Aztec Normal and Manhattan 3.0, Ludashi AiMark, AITuTu, MLPerf, and UL Procyon.

As per the AnTuTu (version 8.3.4), the Snapdragon 888 delivered an average score of 735,439 points which is unsurprisingly a new record for the platform. For reference, the currently AnTuTu champion is Huawei’s Mate 40 Pro+ score of 698,654 points, while the highest performing Snapdragon 865 phone was Xiaomi’s Mi 10 Ultra with 671,045 points.

Snapdragon 888 5G Geekbench

Geekbench (version 5.0.2) revealed 1,135 points in the single-core test and 3,794 in multi-core of the latest Snapdragon 888 which is slightly improved by Snapdragon 865 which tops out at around 900 on the single-core test and 3,400 points in the multi-core.

GFX Bench revealed the Snapdragon 888’s new Adreno 660 GPU that scores averaged 86 frames per second on the Aztec Ruins Vulcan test and 169 fps on the Manhattan 3.0 benchmark. Both tests were performed at 1080p resolution that scores slightly higher than the Snapdragon 865+ which max out at 133fps on Manhattan 3.0 on ROG Phone 3 benchmark.

Xiaomi will be the first company to introduce Mi 11 with Snapdragon 888 by the end of this month, ASUS ROG Phone, Black Shark, Nubia RedMagic Z series phone, OnePlus 9 series, OPPO Find X3, ZTE Axon 30, realme flagship 5G smartphone codenamed ‘Race’, LG, Vivo, iQOO these all are will be powered by Snapdragon 888 in 2021. Qualcomm has also partnered with Lenovo, MEIZU, Motorola, and Sharp that will launch smartphones on the latest flagship Snapdragon Mobile Platform.
