Xiaomi also launched its latest true wireless earbuds, the REDMI Buds 8 Pro in China, at the event along with the REDMI Turbo 5 series, as previously announced. The earbuds feature a dual-driver setup that includes two 6.7mm piezoelectric ceramic drivers and an 11mm titanium-plated dynamic driver, promising rich and high-quality audio output.
The REDMI Buds 8 Pro support Hi-Res Audio Wireless and the LHDC-V5 codec, along with MIHC (MI High Clarity Codec) 2.0, Xiaomi’s in-house high-definition audio codec. At present, MIHC 2.0 is supported on the REDMI Turbo 4, REDMI K80 Pro, and K80 Extreme Edition. Support for the newly launched Turbo 5 series has not yet been enabled, but it is expected to arrive through a future software update.
Equipped with Xiaomi’s latest Deep Space Noise Cancelling 3.0 technology, the earbuds deliver flagship-level noise cancellation with up to 55dB noise reduction depth and a 5kHz noise reduction bandwidth, along with 95dB ambient call noise suppression and resistance to wind noise up to 12m/s.
The charging case features a distinctive LED lighting system that displays the battery status when the lid is opened or closed, or when the charging button is pressed. The earbuds offer up to 8.5 hours of playback, and with the charging case, deliver a total battery life of up to 35 hours, with support for fast charging.
