Xiaomi has officially confirmed the launch of its latest gaming smartphone in the K90 series, the REDMI K90 Ultra in China on June 30, the successor to last year’s REDMI K80 Ultra, with a strong focus on delivering a premium gaming experience.
Design
The company has revealed the smartphone in a Space Silver finish, showcasing a refined metallic appearance. The device features an aluminum alloy CNC-machined frame with an anodized finish, offering a premium look and enhanced durability.
The REDMI K90 Ultra is equipped with a 6.83-inch flat display featuring ultra-narrow bezels and large rounded corners, designed to provide both visual elegance and a comfortable in-hand feel. The smartphone is expected to feature a 1.5K 12-bit AMOLED panel with a 165Hz refresh rate, similar to the REDMI K90 Max. The teaser image also confirms that it is the second REDMI smartphone to incorporate an active cooling fan system.
Active Cooling Fan

According to Xiaomi, the device uses the same large cooling fan found in the REDMI K90 Max, featuring a diameter that is 6% larger than conventional solutions. The cooling system also utilizes a vortex airflow structure that minimizes turbulence while maintaining efficient heat dissipation and a low operating noise level of just 32dB.
The company states that the cooling mechanism is both dust-resistant and water-resistant, and is capable of reducing temperatures by up to 10°C within 100 seconds. This is intended to help sustain stable gaming performance during extended sessions.
Performance

The REDMI K90 Ultra will be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, built on a 3nm process. Xiaomi claims the smartphone is designed to handle demanding gaming workloads, including graphics-intensive 3D mobile titles running at maximum settings.
During internal testing, the device reportedly maintained a consistent frame rate for up to 60 minutes under heavy load without experiencing performance throttling. Xiaomi also highlighted smooth map navigation, reduced motion artifacts, and responsive gameplay during combat scenarios.
For MOBA titles, the company says the smartphone can deliver frame rates exceeding 144fps while rendering ultra-high-definition graphics. In an extended 180-minute gaming test conducted in a 30°C environment, the device reportedly maintained stable performance without frame drops or frequency reduction. The phone will be powered by a massive 8550mAh battery.
Lu Weibing, Partner and President of Xiaomi Group, President of the Mobile Phone Division, and General Manager of the Xiaomi brand, noted that the REDMI K90 Ultra carries over the gaming-focused technologies introduced with the REDMI K90 Max. These include the D2 dedicated gaming graphics chip, e-sports-grade touch controls, enhanced gaming audio effects, and optimized landscape network connectivity.
Xiaomi is expected to share additional details about the REDMI K90 Ultra ahead of its official launch later this month.
