Last year in Galaxy Unpacked event, Samsung has launched its first foldable smartphone Galaxy Fold but it was re-launched in the market after resolving the display issues. Now, Samsung has officially launched its second clamshell smartphone Galaxy Z Flip at the Galaxy Unpacked 2020 event along with the Galaxy S20 Series and Galaxy Buds+.
The Galaxy Z Flip comes with a 6.7-inch FULL HD+ Dynamic AMOLED display with aspect ratio 21.9:9 and 2636 x 1080 pixels resolution. It runs on the Snapdragon 855 plus Processor with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage. This time company uses a proprietary bendable Ultra-Thin Glass (UTG) where Samsung calls its Infinity Flex display and folds test 2,00,000 times. The second display has a 1.1-inch external/cover Super AMOLED display with 300 x 112 pixels resolution. The cover display works as similar to Motorola Razr to show notifications and notification go on the bigger screen when you unfolded the device.
On the rear side of the Galaxy Z Flip has a dual rear camera setup where 12MP primary wide-angle camera with f/1.8 aperture along with a secondary 12MP ultra-wide-angle camera with f/2.2 aperture and the front camera is a 10MP with f/2.4 aperture as similar to Galaxy S20 series.
The Galaxy Z Flip features with a OneUI 2.0 based on Android 10 and has a side-mounted fingerprint scanner. It is working on a 3300mAh battery that supports 15W fast charging through USB Type-C port with a new Wireless PowerShare feature to charge Qi-compatible devices.
The device comes in Mirror Black and Mirror Purple color, and it will be available in the US and Korea from February 14 at cost US$ 1380 (Rs. 98,400 approx.) and the Mirror Gold color will be available soon.
Right now, it’s expected to launch in India soon but still, there is no official information about to launch in India.
Samsung Galaxy Z Flip Thom Browne Edition -
Samsung also announced Galaxy Z Flip Thom Browne Edition that collaborated with Thom Browne, which is an iconic New York fashion brand. The Thom Browne Edition Galaxy Z Flip features special Thom Browne signature brand colors on a pebble grey exterior with the entire package includes a custom-designed Thom Browne on Galaxy Buds+ and Galaxy Watch Active 2.
The Galaxy Z Flip Thom Browne Edition pre-orders started on February 14, 2020, in select markets and the official launch on March 2020. The cost of the device not announced yet but it could be more than the Galaxy Z Flip’s US$ 1380.
