3 things that leaked from Xiaomi this week

Xiaomi is either working on a lot of products at present to expand its current portfolio or these are leaks of just prototypes floating around. Nevertheless, these are still quite intriguing. Here are the 3 things we saw leak this week from Xiaomi:

Xiaomi Mi Band 1S with Heart-rate Sensor

Mi Band 1s FB

Earlier we had seen a render of a Mi Band with a display, but this actually went to the prototyping stage and subsequent certification from Taiwan's National Communications Commission. You can clearly see the heart-rate sensor with its own little logo at the back of the Mi Band 1S. The design and construction looks pretty much same. The new sensor will need to remain in contact with skin and a possible update to the Mi Fit app will add support for better activity monitoring.

Xiaomi has sold a record 34.7 Million smartphones in just the first half of 2015 and is also now the second largest player in the wearables space after FitBit.

Xiaomi Redmi Note 2

Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 Leak

The Redmi Note 2 leaked previously as well showing off a metal casing and is expected to feature a 5.5-inch 720p display, Snapdragon 410 quad-core processor with 2GB RAM and 13MP rear camera alongwith a 5MP front-snapper. Although the core-specs are similar to the Redmi Note 4G, the new SoC would be a huge upgrade in itself.

But that's not the whole story, we now have a leaked image of a metal clad smartphone with what seems like a removable back and a fingerprint scanner at the back. Just below the camera you have a dual-LED flash as well. A previous leek shows a similar design, you can see both the images above.

Xiaomi Smartphone with Dual-cameras (Mi5 Anyone?)

This leaked image of an un-announced Xiaomi smartphone looks quite like the Mi 4 from the back apart from the obvious dual-camera and dual-LED flash setup at the back. The device has a very thin profile and it looks to have a USB Type C port at the bottom.

Xiaomi Mi5 Leaked Image

Could this be the Xiaomi Mi 5? There's no way to tell at the moment. The Xiaomi Mi5 is expected to be a beast running on a Snapdragon 820 quad-core processor with Qualcomm's own Kryo cores, 4GB RAM and a 5.3-inch Quad-HD display.
