Xiaomi has launched its premium camera smartphone the Xiaomi 14 Ultra for global markets following its recent launch in China along with Xiaomi 14. The device boasts a sizable 6.78-inch 2K custom C8 AMOLED LTPO screen with a peak brightness of 3000 nits and a variable refresh rate ranging from 1 to 120Hz. It supports HDR10+ and Dolby Vision, while also featuring 1920Hz PWM dimming for enhanced display quality. Operating on the Android 14-based HyperOS platform, the phone guarantees 4 generations of Android OS upgrades and 5 years of security patches.
It runs on the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset with 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 512GB of UFS 4.0 storage, the device incorporates a new 4000mm² Dual-Channel IceLoop cooling system with Vapor-liquid separation design. This innovative cooling system promises three times the performance of traditional VC solutions.
The phone is equipped with quad rear cameras featuring a 50MP 1" large Sony LYT-900 sensor, offering an f/1.63 ~ f/4 1024-step variable aperture for exceptional background blur and clear detail capture, boasting up to 13.5 EV of dynamic range. It includes a 50MP ultra-wide camera, a 50MP 3.2X telephoto camera, and a 50MP 5x periscope telephoto camera, all equipped with Leica Summilux lenses.
Additionally, the device supports Dolby Vision shooting at 4K 60fps, and the company has added an extra microphone to create a 4-Mic array, enabling both surround sound recording and directional sound recording. The new Movie mode introduces a 2.39:1 aspect ratio and adheres to the 180° shutter rule. The all-new MasterCinema feature encodes HDR videos in 10-bit Rec.2020 to capture richer details, highlights, and shadows.
The Xiaomi 14 Ultra adopts a brand-new 6M42 integrated high-strength aluminum frame material, extending the metal frame to the back of the body, doubling the rigidity compared to the Xiaomi 13 Pro. It also boasts IP68 ratings for dust and water resistance.
Featuring a 5300mAh battery, the phone supports 90W wired charging for a full 100% charge in 34 minutes, 80W wireless charging for 100% charge in 49 minutes, and 10W reverse wireless charging. It incorporates Xiaomi Surge P2 charging chipsets and Xiaomi Surge G1 battery management chipsets.
