Xiaomi today has launched the Mi Mix 2 in India with a 5.99-inch 18:9 full-HD+ display and super thin bezels. In fact, it was Xiaomi that started the bezel-less smartphone trend with the original Mi Mix. Now the second-gen Mi Mix 2 boasts of even thinner bezels, down by 12% and better cameras.
The Mi Mix 2 runs on the Snapdragon 835 octa-core mobile platform with 6GB RAM, 12-megapixel rear camera which uses a Sony IMX386 sensor and a 5-megapixel on the front just below the display. Unlike last time, the new Mi Mix 2 has an actual earpiece this time but keeps the ultrasonic proximity sensor. The back of the phone is made of ceramic, which is more resistant to scratches.
The speaker has also been improved with 50mW power for richer bass even on such a small device. Coming to the rest of the specs, the Mi Mix 2 runs on Android 7.1 Nougat with MIUI 9 onboard, it has dual SIM slots and the storage is non-expandable. It has a fingerprint sensor on the back where it is easily reachable. Connectivity options include 4G VoLTE support, dual-band WiFi ac, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, NFC and USB Type-C port for charging and data syncing.
There's a 3400 mAh battery which keeps everything working.
The Xiaomi Mi Mix 2 comes in black and has been priced at Rs. 35,999 in India for the 6GB RAM variant with 128GB storage. It will be available from Mi.com and Flipkart starting October 17th. Later it will be coming to Mi Home stores in November as well.
