Zte Axon 7 1

ZTE's ZXON brand has a new member, the Axon 7 flagship which runs on the Snapdragon 820 SoC with either 4GB or 6GB RAM.

Packing a 5.5-inch Quad-HD AMOLED display with 2.5D curved Gorilla Glass, the ZTE Axon 7 also has a 20MP rear camera with f/1.9 aperture lens, OIS, PDAF and is capable of recording 4K Videos. Then there's an 8MP front-facing camera to accompany it.

The Axon 7 comes with an all-metal build as well, and the hallmark of these devices from ZTE has always been audio quality. To that effect you have two dedicated AKM HiFi audio chips AK4961/AK4490 with Dolby Atmos and front firing speakers.

Now coming to the rest of the specs, the Axon 7 comes in two variants one with 4GB RAM and 64GB internal storage, the other with a whopping 6GB RAM and 128GB internal storage. You can expand storage with a microSD card, but for that you would need to sacrifice the second SIM slot. Connectivity options include 4G LTE support, dual-band WiFi ac, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS, NFC and USB Type-C port with support for Quick Charge 3.0 for the 3250 mAh battery. There is a fingerprint sensor at the back of the device just below the camera module.

Pricing and Availability

The Axon 7 comes in at CNY 2899 (about $440 or Rs. 29,500) for the 4GB RAM variant and CNY 4099 (about $625 or Rs. 41,900) for the 6GB RAM variant, and it will be available through China's JD.com retailer starting June 2nd, but you can pre-order starting May 26th. There is no word as to when it will be rolled out globally, or make it to Indian shores.
