We wanted to test out gaming on the Canvas Elanza A93 to see how it performs with that 1 GB RAM and 1.3 GHz dual-core MT6572 processor. Mali 400 has already proven its worth in this segment, but in devices with 512 MB RAM. Here's the Gaming Review of the Micromax Canvas Elanza A93.
Let's start with the good, apps as well as app-data are movable to the SD card meaning even high-end games can be installed without worrying about space. Therefore we installed several high-end HD games including Asphalt 8, Modern Combat 4 (MC4), NOVA 3, Real Racing 3, FIFA 14 and also Subway Surfers, Dead Trigger 2, Frontline Commando, Riptide GP2 and Temple Run 2.
Right off the bat I would say gameplay is poor, the display adds to the frustration where everything looks darker than it should be. The touch response also becomes sluggish and there is definite lag while playing high-end games. The framerate is inconsistent making gameplay even worse. We have seen this same chipset perform much better on lower-end devices with 512 MB RAM, it seems that either its incapable of handling the qHD resolution or that 1 GB RAM is just too much for the chipset to manage. Whatever the reason, the Micromax Canvas Elanza A93 is definitely not a gaming phone.
