A new Asus Zenfone device has just been certified by TENNA in China, dubbed the Zenfone X00GD. The new Zenfone features a massive 4850 mAh battery and 5.2-inch 720p display clad in 2.5D curved glass. This does seem like another Zenfone Max smartphone but given the front home button and new design, this may be the next generation of smartphones from Asus - Zenfone 4, but it's more likely a new device in its Pegasus series. If you are confused, given that the OG Zenfone 4 was launched in 2014, well, so are we. But that's probably going to be the name of the next-gen Zenfone devices or may just skip 4 to Zenfone 5, oh wait, Zenfone 6 then - nope, that's taken too.

Anyways, coming back to the Zenfone X00GD, it comes with a metal back cover which houses the large battery along with a 13 MP rear camera and 8 MP front-facing camera for selfies. Due to the massive battery inside, it weighs in at 169.5 grams with an 8.85mm thick waistline. Connectivity options include Dual-SIM 4G VoLTE support, WiFi, GPS and possibly FM Radio as well. We are also inclined to believe that the front home button also houses a fingerprint sensor.

There will be several color options to choose from including the rose-gold color you see above, black and normal gold. Again, there's no word from Asus on a possible name or release date, but given that CES 2017 is just around the corner, we may see this along with the Zenfone 3 Zoom with dual-cameras at the mega event.
