Samsung Exynos 2600 2nm processor launch global.

Samsung has officially launched its next-generation mobile System-on-Chip (SoC), the Exynos 2600 in the Global Market after teasing. Manufactured using the industry’s first 2nm Gate-All-Around (GAA) process, the new chipset marks a major architectural shift, moving beyond conventional core layouts to focus on energy-efficient AI processing and sustained gaming performance.

Revamped CPU Architecture and Performance -

The Exynos 2600 features a 10-core CPU built on the latest Armv9.3 architecture. Unlike its predecessor’s traditional tri-cluster design with big, middle, and little cores, the new chip eliminates “little” efficiency cores in favor of an expanded “middle-core” approach to deliver a wider performance range.

The CPU configuration includes -

  • Arm C1-Ultra core - A prime core engineered to boost responsiveness and improve IPC.
  • Nine middle cores - Divided into three high-performance middle cores for demanding multi-threaded workloads and six high-efficiency middle cores for everyday system tasks.

Combined with support for Scalable Matrix Extension 2 (SME2), this redesign delivers up to a 39% boost in CPU compute performance while significantly reducing latency for on-device AI operations.

Advanced On-Device AI and Security -

AI capabilities take center stage with the Exynos 2600. Its upgraded NPU delivers a claimed 113% improvement in generative AI performance over the previous generation, enabling more complex models to run locally for features such as real-time photo editing and advanced AI assistant functions.

Samsung has also strengthened security with new hardware-level protections -

  • Post-Quantum Cryptography (PQC) - The first mobile SoC to include hardware-backed hybrid PQC with ROM-rooted protection, designed to safeguard data against future cryptographic threats.
  • Enhanced virtualization security - Improved hardware isolation for sensitive processes.

Xclipse 960 GPU and Gaming Enhancements -

On the graphics side, the Exynos 2600 integrates the new Xclipse 960 GPU. Samsung claims the architecture doubles compute performance compared to its predecessor while delivering a 50% gain in ray-tracing performance.

The chipset also introduces Exynos Neural Super Sampling (ENSS™), an AI-driven technology for resolution upscaling and frame generation. According to Samsung, ENSS can make gameplay feel up to three times smoother, all while staying within tight mobile power limits.

Pro-Grade Imaging and Thermal Management -

The upgraded ISP supports camera sensors of up to 320MP and debuts a new Visual Perception System (VPS). VPS enables real-time recognition and processing of fine details within each frame, cutting power consumption during photography by as much as 50%. Additional imaging features include:

  • Deep Learning Video Noise Reduction (DVNR) for improved low-light video.
  • APV codec support to enhance color accuracy and detail in professional-grade video recording.

To sustain peak performance, Samsung has introduced the industry’s first Heat Path Block (HPB) for mobile SoCs. Working alongside High-k EMC materials, this solution optimizes heat transfer, reduces thermal resistance by 16%, and helps maintain stable temperatures during intensive tasks such as high-end gaming.
