Sony has just launched its 2017 flagship in India, the Xperia XZs with comes with the company's new 19-megapixel Motion Eye camera capable of recording ultra slo-mo 960 fps video. It also predictively captures shots before you press the shutter button to give you more control over the action happening right in front of you and then there's 5-axis image stabilization for blurr free images even in low light.
Continuing with the camera, there's a 13MP front camera as well with Exmor RS sensor f/2.0 22mm wide-angle lens. But the highlight here is still the rear camera which can also record 4K videos.
Coming to the front, Sony has put a 5.2-inch 1080p display here with Dynamic contrast enhancer which is said to improve contrast based on the content visible on the display. Powering the innards is last years' flagship chipset the Snapdragon 820 with 4GB RAM and 64GB internal storage which is expandable with a microSD card slot. Its good to see both Samsung, LG and Sony going with 64GB as the minimum storage spec on their devices.
Now, all this is tucked inside a glass and metal shell which is water resistant with IP68 rating measuring in at 146 x 72 x 8.1 mm and weighing in at 161 grams. Powering the phone is a 2900 mAh battery which may seem small by today's standards, but Sony has always managed to get more juice out of them especially with the Stamina mode. Talking about software, the Xperia XZs will boot Android 7.1.1 Nougat out of the box.
Connectivity options include 4G LTE support, dual-band WiFi, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS, NFC USB Type-C with fast charging support and a fingerprint sensor for added security.
The Xperia XZs has been priced at Rs. 49990 in India and will come in Ice Blue, Warm Silver and Black color options. It will be available starting April 11th. You can pre-order it from Sony Center, other offline retail outlets and online exclusively on Flipkart starting tomorrow. Pre-booking gets you a free wireless bluetooth speaker, the Sony SBS-XB10 worth Rs. 4990 free.
